Topic: When the Heat Is On: Navigating Cal/OSHA’s Indoor and Outdoor Heat Illness Prevention Requirements
The presentation goes beyond water, rest, and shade to explore what Cal/OSHA expects from California employers. We’ll cover indoor and outdoor heat requirements, acclimatization, recognizing and responding to heat illness, emergency procedures, supervisor responsibilities, and the compliance gaps that commonly put workers and organizations at risk.
Speaker:
Anna Albright
CEO and Co-Founder, Clema
Anna Albright is co-founder and CEO of Clema, building the first full-shift active cooling wearable for workers in extreme heat. In months: $1.6M raised, deployments with companies representing 25,000+ workers, incl. a public energy company and a major logistics firm, and a seat on the ISEA 600 committee writing OSHA’s heat-safety standards, alongside 3M and Cintas.
Before starting Clema, she testified before the Massachusetts State House at 16, ran a student investment fund’s climate team at Yale, structured green debt at JP Morgan, then ran industrial and energy work at BCG, before building the company to fix the problem she’d spent a decade studying.
