Surviving an Active Assailant

The presentation covers 3rd party crimes/prevention (trespassers, transients on the property, vandalism, burglary prevention), how to approach unauthorized persons safely, active assailant prevention, alert, lock-down, informing staff, countering the assailant, and evacuation.

Police response will also be covered. The counter portion will focus on stopping the assailant as a last resort and will require hands-on (no one has to participate in any physical demonstrations unless they wish to). We will briefly cover barricading and will demonstrate interrupting the OODA loop. In addition to active assailant, we will also discuss “Stop the Bleed”  and demonstrate the proper way of stopping bleeding and tourniquet usage. Finally, we will demonstrate how to use a Individual First Aid Kit (IFAK) (individual first aid kit) and discuss chest seals (for bullet wounds to the chest). This interactive hands-on class will not only inform you on what to look out for, but help you be prepared in some of the hardest circumstances you might face.
